Foehn 88S / フェーン 88S

The Foehn 88S is a long casting rod designed for offshore use.

It was developed to comfortably handle lightweight plugs as well as lures weighing around 100g, which are typically used for yellowtail (hiramasa).
A notable feature is its high breaking strength and light weight, despite being a long rod.
It achieves a breaking strength of 28kg at 60°, and has been designed to weigh under 300g.
This significantly reduces the feeling of heaviness and casting fatigue that often comes with long rods, even after consecutive casts.

The blank of the Foehn 88S is designed with a clear core within its suppleness.
The rod bends smoothly with even light input, allowing for effortless extension of casting distance.
As a result, it achieves not only long-distance casting performance but also the casting accuracy to precisely target desired spots.

During a fight, the entire blank absorbs the fish's power and distributes the load.
It offers high stability after hooking the fish and is also a great feature for reducing angler fatigue during long fights.

Utilizing its 8.8ft length, it allows for efficient exploration of a wide range of areas for offshore casting targeting yellowtail, tuna, GT, and more.
